I'm often asked why we had a home birth first time around. Wasn't I scared something would go wrong?

Truth is, I was much more fearful about having to give birth in a hospital. I immersed myself in research over the years as a Naturopath and took note of patients who described their births as a (challenging) but an empowering and beautiful experience. I was confident we were making an informed decision that was right for us.

When it comes to pregnancy and birthing decisions, that is what I encourage patients and Path To Glowing Mumma members to do. Gather all of the information, take in both sides of any argument and make a decision with what resonates for you and your partner.

To help you explore the decisions and possible challenges you may be faced with in the lead-up to birth, and learn facts and stats that your current health care provider may not be sharing with you, I have invited Adelaide based Childbirth educator, Amanda Chow for a chat on the podcast.

As a chiropractor, doula and childbirth educator, Amanda Chow is passionate about helping women prepare their mind and body for labour so that  they feel empowered, confident and ready for birth and motherhood.

She has created online childbirth education courses, (including her soon to launch READY FOR VBAC - an evidenced based course exploring the real risks and benefits of VBAC and Caesarean, how to find the right provider for you and how to prepare for your VBAC,) she holds space in the Nest Birth Collective - a FB group with virtual doula support and childbirth education, as well as caring for her pregnant clients with chiropractic care and birth doula support.

Amanda believes in the transformative experience of childbirth and supporting women to thrive, not just survive in motherhood.

In todays podcast episode Amanda explores:

> Supporting your body physically during pregnancy and leading into birth

> Busting myths around the dangers if a VBAC (vaginal birth after caesarean)

> An important chat around 'big babies'

> Birthing tools and exercises to help your experience

> Positive advice for you as you approach birth.
