Bubba Friendly Turkey Patties

This recipe was created by Nutritionist Diana Krisanski for the baby book, Thriving Bubba. Over to you Diana...

Turkey is a rich source of protein, iron and fat to incorporate into your baby's diet (see Thriving Bubba for specific time line introduction guidelines).

I have a few recipes for patties, slices and bites as they can be used as both a savoury snack and for meals on the go. Once cooked they freeze well and will last up to 3 months in the freezer but best consumed within 1 month of freezing.

You can mix it up by swapping in grated sweet potato, apple, finely chopped mushrooms or broccoli. You can also make a turkey bolognaise using similar ingredients; simply omit the egg and flour and add 500ml of broth, serve with cauliflower rice, mashed sweet potato or properly prepared brown rice.

Let's get cooking Mumma...

Homemade Nut Milk

Been shopping for milk alternatives lately? There are now many dairy-free options on the market, which is helpful for families who prefer not to consumr pasteurised cows milk.

But having so many choices can cause confusion when trying to source a milk option free from ingredients that may compromise your health. For more information in seeking a pre-made milk alternative that is up to my naturopath standards, head over to this post

The most nutritious option? Try homemade. You’ll know exactly what is in your milk and the quality of ingredients used. Plus it tastes ahhmazing!

Here is a quick and easy homemade nut milk recipe, you can adapt to whatever nuts you have on hand or prefer the taste of. If you are using this as a comfort milk option for a baby (over 12 months), ensure you have introduced the nut into their diet (without symptoms of allergy or intolerance) previously. For the highest calcium content, opt for almonds.

How To Find A Nourishing Dairy-Free Milk

How To Find A Nourishing Dairy-Free Milk

I’m no coffee addict, but I do enjoy a morning bulletproof and catching up over an almond milk latte every once in a while.

Almond and coconut milk are my go-to dairy milk alternatives which I now much prefer the taste and texture over regular coffee (with cows milk). When a cafe uses a milk that has nasties added, I can usually tell and my naturopath instinct kicks in to do some detective work. So you can imagine my disappointment now that most cafes have done the old switch-a-roo and started using dairy free milks that are not up to my (admittedly high) naturopath standards. Relax, I’m not talking about Nutrition Republic– they still get my tick of approval

For those that don’t do so well on dairy, there are now many alternatives available, but only a few that I can confidently recommend as healthy options. I know it can get confusing and hard keeping up with the...

Naturopath Approved Lemon Vanilla Panna Cotta

Naturopath Approved Lemon Vanilla Panna Cotta

I have many patients who are struggling with food intolerances. When they are reacting to eggs, nuts, dairy and grains, meal ideas can pose a challenge.

My Lemon Vanilla Panna Cotta was created with these patients in mind. Focusing on including good fats from coconut, gut healing gelatin, together with refreshing lemon, and flavoursome accompanying spices, this recipe is a just as nutritious as it is delicious!

This one is perfect for a sustaining brekkie, enjoyed as a snack and presented as a healthy desert (they won’t know any different). The good fats will help to keep your blood sugars stable, the inflammation producing insulin down, and gives you a steady release of energy throughout the day.

Ok, enough waiting! Here it is…
