A Healthy Treat To Satisfy Your Sweet Cravings

May 14, 2021

One of the most common symptoms that presents to me as a Naturopath, is the struggle with constant sweet cravings. Although I will always look for the underlying cause, whether it’s investigating for imbalanced microbiome, testing for hormone imbalances or overcoming nutritional deficiencies, it’s helpful to have healthy options to offer in place of that sugar-filled block of chocolate or packet of lollies.

Introducing my Lemon Gummies- perfect for overcoming your sweet cravings, provide vitamin C and gelatine for you gut and immune system.  Plus they’re yummy enough to please even the little people in your home!

LEMON GUMMIES

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

1/2 cup fresh lemon (or any 1 1/2 cups of any fresh juice)

1 cup water (if you prefer a creamy gummies you could use 1/2 cup coconut milk, 1/2 water)- leave out this water if you're using fresh juice aside from lemon juice

Just over 2.5 tablespoons gelatine

½ tbsp raw honey (feel free to add extra to ease your way into the gummie world)

4 drops Lime Essential Oil (optional but not for the pregnant Mummas or young children)

Shaped ice cube trays, or moulds

What you’ll need to do:

Add the juice into a small saucepan.

Sprinkle over the gelatine and allow it soak up all the juice before starting to whisk.

Continue to stir the gelatine and juice over medium heat and the gelatin is well dissolved (don’t boil).

If using honey, add to saucepan with the essential oils and mix in.

Pour the mixture into shaped ice cubed trays and set in the fridge for 3 hours.

They can be stored in the fridge to enjoy for up to 2 weeks.

Enjoy!!

I’d love to hear what you think. Did your gummies creation help to curb your sweet cravings? Let me know across in my @GlowingMumma.ThrivingBubba insta DM's :)
